BSB50420
Diploma of Leadership and Management
The BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management is designed for individuals ready to take on greater leadership responsibilities within their organisation. It builds practical skills in team leadership, operational planning, and strategic decision-making across a range of business contexts.

Overview
This qualification provides a clear pathway for career progression into supervisory and mid-level management roles, while also offering a strong foundation for further study in business or leadership. It is designed for individuals who are currently working, or seeking to work, in leadership, supervisory, or team coordination roles across a wide range of industries. Learners are typically transitioning from operational, administrative, or technical roles into positions with increased responsibility such as leading teams, managing day-to-day operations, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
The program supports the structured development of leadership capabilities, helping students shift from individual contributor roles to more independent leadership and management responsibilities. Graduates gain the skills and confidence needed to progress into specialised supervisory and team leadership positions, as well as broader management roles. This qualification also opens up opportunities for further study, particularly at the Diploma level, building on the leadership and business capabilities developed throughout the course.
Learning content
Learners will build the skills to lead and manage teams effectively, coordinate operational plans, and make the best use of workplace resources. The course also focuses on professional communication with internal and external stakeholders, applying critical thinking to manage business risk, and driving innovation and continuous improvement. By developing these capabilities, students are equipped to enhance team performance and contribute meaningfully to organisational success.
