The SIR30216 Certificate III in Retail is a nationally recognised qualification designed for individuals working in the retail sector who are ready to build on foundational skills and take on greater responsibility. Learners at this level perform a range of advanced tasks and may provide guidance to other team members during daily operations.

Overview
This program is ideal for those currently employed in roles such as retail assistants or team members who are seeking to formalise their experience and progress into supervisory or senior customer service roles.
Learners gain the practical skills and confidence needed to advance in the retail industry, with clear pathways into roles such as team leader or department supervisor, or further study at Certificate IV level.
Learning content
Training is delivered through a workplace-based model, complemented by online resources and trainer-led sessions to support learning and practical application. The course covers a range of key retail topics including customer service, complaint handling, and using point-of-sale systems with confidence.

Eligibility
- Students must meet the minimum working age for the relevant role and be able to engage safely in the work environment.
- Students must be recently employed in a suitable retail role. Employment must be with an employer in a retail business such as a supermarket, department store, pharmacy, convenience store, or specialty retailer.
- Students must have ongoing access to a real retail work environment where practical skills and assessment activities can be completed. This includes direct access to customers, point-of-sale systems, stock management processes, and retail operations aligned to the qualification outcomes.
